Further Assaults Against Christianity

I've heard it said that the Christian Church is under assault.
This assault consists of any behavior that is expressly forbidden by the Holy Bible.
Two examples, that have come up recently, are the movements to legalize homosexual marriage and the movement to secularise Christmas. No doubt the movement to stop intelligent design can be included, too.
These, however, are trivial assaults, compared to two major assaults against the Values we hold near and dear.
Here, then, are two major assaults on Christianity.

Theft.
Theft is condemned by the Ten Commandments themselves, a centerpoint of Christian belief, yet seems to be growing. Ken Lay, a formerly successful business leader, has been accused of it.
I am greatly surprised by how little the Christian community seems to care about this case, an act which strikes at one of the central tenets of the belief. I think that all Christians of Faith should picket outside the courtroom; indeed, outside all such courtrooms, in order to prevent similar deeds from recurring.

Gossip.
Otherwise known as False Witness, the telling of untruths that impugn another's character has become epidemic in recent years. Kerry, Murtha, Clinton - the names of the victims go on and on. Yet the Christian Faithful do nothing to stop this assault against a Commandment of our Lord.
It is the duty of all good Christians to shun such falsehoods, and to work to prevent the purveyors of such falsehoods from spreading their poisons, to the detriment of our Christian society. We should hunt these liars out, expose them for what they are, and silence them.

Keep in mind that theft and false witness are not forbidden just by an apostle, nor by implication, nor by the interpretation of scholars. They are forbidden, in straightforward language, by our Lord Himself.
Thou Shalt Not Steal.
Thou Shalt Not Bear False Witness Against Thy Neighbor.
No room for misinterpretation there.

I can for all good Christians, those currently working to save marriage and Christmas from the heathens, to put away these trivial struggles for the moment, and turn their good works towards these major assaults.
Thank you.
