Fly The Friendly Skies

The Bundesverfassungsgericht (Germany’s highest court) has ruled that the German Grundgesetz (the basic law or constitution) does not allow for the shooting down of a hijacked passenger plane involved in a possible terror attack. Our equivalent of a constitutional amendment would be necessary for this.

This will certainly provide comfort to those unfortunate passengers who might be hijacked on day X in the future. I mean, think about it. That’s one way less you won’t be dying in the next few minutes.

Of course on the other hand it’ll probably be less fun for you if you’re part of some other group of innocent folks when that creepy text message about the hijacking comes in over your cell phone and you’re attending a World Cup soccer match or changing shifts at that nuclear power plant you work at etc. But hey, that might also soon be one less thing for you to worry about.
