Cartoons Inspire Violence
By now, I'm sure you've heard about the uproar "caused" by the cartoons depicting Muhammed .
Thousands of Muslim protesters enraged over the publication of caricatures of Islam's Prophet Muhammad set ablaze the Danish Embassy on Sunday and rampaged through a predominantly Christian neighborhood, dangerously escalating sectarian tensions in a country whose mélange of faiths can sometimes serve as a microcosm of the world's religious divide.Civil Commotion has the pics if you want to view them.
Two things strike me as particularly outrageous in this story.
Burning down buildings seems a little extreme for having your feelings hurt (or being offended) They are acting like children, incapable of controlling their emotional reactions. Seriously, most of the cartoons weren't offensive in any other manner than just the fact they depicted the Prophet.
Isn't it possible to just smile and think to yourself, "you're going to hell, God willing."
For some it's any excuse to act like an animal, I guess.
