AND IF YOU THOUGHT RAW FISH WAS BAD (PG-13 HUMOR): CHINESE FINE DINING

by LONNIE HODGE

I am not squeamish about trying new food. I have eaten raw horsemeat (Basashi), salted squid guts (shiokara), and live sea urchin (uni) in the past to keep from looking ungrateful at a business meal. And if ever thought Guangdong or Japanese eating was strange I am cowed (pun intended) by this new culinary discovery. I would have to fold the napkin for
horse penis and testicles with chilli dip.

A restaurant in Beijing, Guo-li-zhuang (the combined names of the family that owns it), has developed a health-seeking group of followers willing to pay for some pretty strange animal parts. It is China's first (oh, and I hope last) penis specialty restaurant.

Let's see (and put down ANYTHING you are eating or drinking as you read this):

*The male organs of an ox and a snake
*Yaks Organs (this makes Richard Gere look absolutely normal)
*Donkey.
*Seal Specimens.
*Dog's penis garnished with a plum.
*Mongolian Goat things.

One day the animas are going to pay us back for this:
HUMANOMAKI

It is mostly guys who visit for virility reasons. And each dish is explained by a waitress and a nutitionist schooled in the medical value of the meal.

Women are wooed away from testicular dishes as the testosterone might inhibit pregnancy though a nutitionist, who said Chinese are what they eat (NO! Do not visualize this!), found skin benefits from ingestion.

A certian Mr Liu, their most regular customer, says, "I can't say I've noticed any difference yet, but it's a long-term thing." (I heard that!)

Do you suppose he eats the goat? I guess if he has been eating it for a while it can't be (punish me for this) too b-a-a-a-d for you.
