South Korea Lifts Ban on Some U.S. Meat South Korea will be accepting meat from calves under 30 months old, as long as there are no bones in the meat. Bones are regarded as "risky" parts of the cow. While the ban's partial lifting will be a good thing for beef exporters, not allowing bones in the meat means that beef ribs, which previously accounted for 60% of America's exports to South Korea, will still not be allowed in the country.
