CHINESE LUCK HAPPY 4703 CHINA!!!

Happy New Year! It is 4703 on the Chinese Calendar. The Year of the Dog!

DOG YEAR

The Chinese New Year is the second New Moon after the winter solstice. So, this year January 29, is the first day of the Chinese new year. It is a time of family, fireworks and fun. It coincides with the Spring Festival which functionally closes down China for up to thirty days to allow people to return to their ancestral homes. Just TRY and get a train ticket to Outer Mongolia--I dare you!

Each year is also designated by one of the 12 Animals For instance, 2003 was the year of Ram and 2004 , the year of Monkey. Last year was the year of the Rooster, 2006 is the year of Dog, and 2007 will be Year of Pig.

Any one who was born in the Year of Dog is now either 0, 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72, 84, 96 or 108 years old. That is a ton of Dog years.

And let's see: In superstition rich China the Zodiac has special properties. Many women consult the Zodiac when considering a mate. For you Dogs out there here is a brief idea of what your sign would say about you:

People born in the Year of the Dog possess the best of traits: a deep sense of loyalty, honesty, and they inspire confidence because they know how to keep secrets. But Dog People are a tad selfish, crazy stubborn, and a little eccentric. They are not very money mad, yet somehow always seem to possess it. They can be cold emotionally and sometimes distant and can find fault with many things. They're noted for their sharp tongues. Dog people make good leaders. They are most compatible with those born in the Years of the Horse, Tiger, and Rabbit.

And it is time for you Dogs to don your lucky pants! I have moved up that post so you can see what that means. It follows this one. The symbol above in red is the symbol for luck. It is customary to put it upside down this time of year as a way of wishing. You will see it on the lucky pants!

Just for a laugh I googled the word combination "Professor Lucky Pants" and came up #1 out of over 600,000. It IS going to be a good year.

4703!! How time flies!

YEARS GO BY

Happy New Year Qing Qing
