Hamas Wins Working Majority In Palestinian Parliament Needless to say the Hamas win is a shock to most of us who went to bed with reports that it had a strong, but not dominant, position in the election. Early morning reports on the BBC corrected that misperception (also in the morning NY Times) and we shall have to see what transpires now. I gather that the European Union had indicated that it can work with a government committed to peace -- let us hope! The websites above are Google, Aljazeera, and Haaretz. --
