Adult Stem Cell Breakthrough The poorly funded Griffith University team – which conducted its research with a mere $200,000 in grants – appears to have found a direct and non-controversial alternative to the use of stem cells derived from leftover embryos created during fertility treatment, reported the Australian newspaper. The best part about this is that unlike embryonic stem cells, these adult ones produce no cancerous side effects, not to mention the rejection rate would be approximately 0% due to the fact that a person's own cells were used. As more scientific evidence continues to reveal the potential of adult stem cells (not to mention stem cells from umbilical chords) the argument for embryonic stem cells will eventually become harder to defend exposing the folly of needing such fetal tissue (not to mention that these fetus can be adopted).
