It is also a parameter to judge the jury who choose Rushdie for this honor. Let us see some reasons why Rushdie deserved this honor.
From Muslims’ Perspective: The […]

It’s now official.
The NYTIMES clone, the International Herald Tribune, now admits that Hillary is fading from view in the press.
Even her victory speech in Kentucky on Tuesday, shown live on cable news, was given perfunctory attention - a footnote to someone else’s page in history. When MSNBC called the Kentucky primary early in the evening, […]

Taking example from John Paul II, Pope Benedict XVI did not scold Americans during his first pontifical visit to the United States. Just like John Paul II, he was also concerned about his public image. Vatican diplomats have admitted as much in their pre-trip media interviews when they suggested that the pope will try to present a moderate tone during his American visit. More […]

Two writers I respect have noted the “over the top” Obamamania crowds.
Roger Simon writes on his blog about the President as celebrity, wryly noting:
I don’t know about you, but my observation in life has been that when you fall in love your judgment is, shall we say, skewed.
And another wag started an “tongue in cheek” […]

Barack Obama has set out to woo the Evangelical vote.
Evangelicals are not a homogenous bloc of voters and differ on a number of issues. However, there are fundamentals that a vast majority of Evangelicals agree on and abortion is one of them.
This week, Candidate Obama’s interview with Christianity Today was posted online and […]

In the halcyon days of TV there was a game show, “To Tell The Truth,” in which contestants bluffed – even lied – their way through their résumés, claiming experiences and expertise they did not have. Abortion, gun control and gay marriage are the three most reliable issues that get conservative and religious “values voters” to turn out in the primaries. This election cycle, there’s another issue that trumps this unholy trinity: the global spread of Islamic fundamentalism (or Islamofascism, as some prefer). The Associated Press reports:

I was always in favor of gun control, at least until I was a missionary in Africa, when we noticed the criminal gangs/freedom fighters (the groups, as is usual in the third world, overlapped) started attacking missionaries, in cars, in missions, and in hospitals.

Apparently a growing number of researchers are saying so, even alleging it partly explains the severe black-white mortality gap. To a certain degree they’re right — some infant deaths are stress-related, racism causes stress, and blacks face more racism than whites.
John Lott needed little more than a Google search to prove it’s not that big […]
