I am Bob Hayes, the publisher emeritus of BNN, and an online writer, entrepreneur and blogger. My personal blog can be read at Bob Hayes Online, and my freelance writing business is called DocRocket.
I am a registered Republican and reluctant McCain voter. I believe McCain to be an honorable and able man, and I hope and pray that he will succeed in office.
Politically I lean to the left on a few issues and to the right on many others. I'm always and everywhere in favor of human freedom as a starting point on every issue. My long-defunct blog "Let's Try Freedom" explored some of those issues, and served to clarify some of my thinking about libertarian politics and how they could work in the world. I was born and raised Catholic, and am an intermittent but believing churchgoer. I voted for Bush the last two times, Dole before that, then Clinton (shudder - young and stupid) then Bush Sr. Before that, I was too young to vote. I have no memory of my Congressional votes for the most part.
I live in Colorado with my family. I enjoy playing D&D with my old college chums in Seattle (I call up on their speakerphone using our Internet phone service, and we use an online map-sharing application to keep track of the action. I can see the map and figures on my PC, and the group in Seattle has it up on a wide-screen TV. Tell me that technology isn't awesome, and I will laugh in your face.) I spend most of my time writing, reading, and raising my daughter.
Some of my favorite blogs are ResurrectionSong, Ann Althouse, Creative Destruction (where I am a co-blogger), and VodkaPundit. I've developed quite an interest in web comics, and one of my favorites is the Order of the Stick.
I am available as a public speaker on the topics of citizen journalism, Internet business models, new media, and current political events. Contact me at docrocket@gmail.com for details.
While BloggerNews.net is known to provide up to the minute information on a wide variety of topics, at times a more in-depth analysis of a topic that is being written about by our writers is warranted. This section of BNN provides just that – an area of the site that looks deeper into a topic, delves into the actual facts behind it, and provides more than just a summary overview of what is happening right here and now.
From something as mundane as an overview of how credit scores work, to life and death topics such as mesothelioma, we are committed to creating a growing library of information for our readers. Click below to review the topics covered so far, and check back soon as new ones are to be added regularly!

BloggerNews.net would like to thank and congratulate our Blogger of the Month for the month of June 2008 – Kevin Tipple for his outstanding contributions to BloggerNews.net, including nothing but a fantastic number of great book reviews!
Kevin is a contributor to Blogger News from the great state of Texas, and writes on a variety of subjects - as long as they have to do with books, and nothing else... Which, apparently, sometimes even talk to him (Yes - the books). Turns out he is a very good book reviewer, however, so this doesn't seem to have worked out too badly for him.
Click here for a list of the almost 90 book reviews that Kevin has posted to BNN so far or Simon Barrett interviews Kevin Tipple... Click here to read the interview.
