I’ve heard of this type of thing happening before, especially to part-black anti-affirmative action activist Ward Connerly, but I thought it was a lot less common at more reasonable colleges. I saw a lot of speakers at Northwestern University, including Connerly, Ann Coulter and Ted Nugent, and I can only think of one or two questioners who made asses of themselves (beyond dumb questions).
But apparently an entire mob of Columbia University students intentionally disrupted the founder of the Minutemen (the anti-illegal immigration group that finds border-crossers and reports them to officials), invited to campus by the College Republicans. Let’s just hope the university can respond forcefully to preserve speech rights on campus — you have the right to protest, and liberals should certainly pose counter-arguments to conservative speakers, but interruption of an invited guest is not acceptable.
