The breach of debit card numbers, pin numbers and encryption code to decipher the data that was tied to Office Max and put Card Systems out of business did not involve SSNs to the best of my knowledge. If the victim faked a SSN and used David's name, then the debit card breach cannot really be tied to the fraud.
