You’ll recall just a couple days ago when I mentioned how a Y2K bug had contributed to several years of false climate data, and how the hottest year on record was actually back in the 30’s.
Well, check this out:
A Washington, D.C., resident recently came across a 1922 article that revealed early signs of climate change.John Lockwood found a 1922 article in The Washington Post when he was conducting research at the Library of Congress. The article’s headline read: “Arctic Ocean Getting Warm; Seals Vanish and Icebergs Melt,” according to a report in the Washington Times.
The article reports “great masses of ice have now been replaced by moraines of earth and stones,” and “at many points well-known glaciers have entirely disappeared.”
Isn’t that special? Oh, my headline, incidentally, is taken from the 1922 article.
I guess it’s comforting (in a warped way) to know that even in the 1920’s they had to contend with global warming freaks.
