		<description>The claim that 1934 is the hottest year is dishonest. It is now considered, by a statistically insignificant margin, to be the hottest for the lower 48. But the world doesn't end at the Canadian and Mexican borders, and 1934 is not even close to being the hottest year for the world. That distinction still belongs to 2005, and the 10 hottest years, globally, have all occurred since 1990. For more information, see:
