The Texas Longhorns moved to a number 7 ranking in the BCS standings after surviving a 4th quarter scare in Lincoln, Nebraska and preserving a 22-20 win thus keeping their national title hopes alive. The Horns move up two spots from their previous ranking of 9 which caused a stir among the Texas faithful considering the Horns were ranked #5 in both the ESPN/USA Today and AP Polls at the time of the intitial release of the BCS rankings. Moving up two spots in one week in the BCS is promising for the Longhorns who are still seeking an outside chance of reaching the BCS National Title Game after losing to Ohio State earlier in the season. Ohio State is currently #1 in the official BCS rankings.
