Remember the recent and hugely hyped CNN-YouTube debate between the illustrious Democrat candidates for president? Who could forget that gimmicky attempt by the Dems to show the world how oh-so-hip and “new media” they are? And who could forget that the pathetic reality of it was that it provided an undeserved forum for a parade of Joe Blows with video cameras to ask a slew of dumb and irrelevant questions of presidential candidates, thereby degrading the process of seeking the nation’s highest office?

But the one thing that made it all worthwhile was seeing Hillary put the smack-down on Barack Obama after he unhesitatingly responded to a questioner that, yes, he would certainly be willing to have face-to-face meetings with the world’s most intransigent dictators, with no preconditions, during the first year of an Obama presidency.

Talk about a gift that would be to those despicable dictators who lord over the miserable countries of Iran, Syria, North Korea, Cuba and Venezuela. Such meetings would amount to an instant elevation in their status from generally shunned pariahs to statesmen on a par with the president of the United States.

And how, exactly, would such meetings help the U.S.? Well, according to Obama, by setting up a situation where it would become possible for us to search for areas “where we can potentially move forward.” Sure, whatever that means. Obama also added, “I think it’s a disgrace that we have not spoken to them.”

Right. That’s the disgrace, that we haven’t spoken to them. Not that they treat their citizens like slaves, commit mass murder, threaten Israel with annihilation, foment terror around the world and do everything possible to give grief to Western civilization.

Now, Hillary may be fundamentally a clueless left-wing socialist, but she is smart enough to recognize colossal foolishness when she hears it and she was all over Obama’s rantings like a cheap pants suit. It was a gaff by her biggest rival served up on a silver platter and she made the most of it, pointing out his naiveté and intellectual shallowness.

Obama responded by calling her “Bush-Cheney lite,” but he knew she was right and he needed to do something to dispel the notion that when it came to dealing with the world’s bad guys, a President Obama would be a pushover and a chump.

So what did he come up with? Let’s invade Pakistan! That’s right, folks. Hillary may be “Bush-Cheney lite,” but Obama’s ready to become Bush-Cheney on steroids, not to mention LSD. Here’s what he said during a speech at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars:

“Let me make this clear. There are terrorists holed up in those mountains who murdered 3,000 Americans. They are plotting to strike again. It was a terrible mistake to fail to act when we had a chance to take out an al-Qaida leadership meeting in 2005. If we have actionable intelligence about high-value terrorist targets and President Musharraf won’t act, we will.”

Now there’s some gol dang, butt-kickin’ cowboy talk for ya. Obama’s ready to out-cowboy the crazy cowboy Bush if he gets into the Oval Office. There’s just one problem with his Pakistan strategy.

Radicals have already tried to assassinate Pakistan’s President Musharraf umpteen times. It’s obvious to anyone with a brain that he’s walking an ultra-precarious tightrope between trying to help the U.S. in the war on terror and trying to control a country full of Islamic wack jobs who want Pakistan to become like Afghanistan was during the hay day of the Taliban.

Given how the great unwashed Pakistani masses feel about their current leader and the infidel imperialist Americans, invading Pakistan, even if limited to the mountainous tribal areas, would virtually guarantee the untimely demise of Musharraf and a radical take-over of a nuclear-armed Pakistan. How does that not make the war against radical Islamic terrorism infinitely more difficult?

Thanks a lot for your contribution to geopolitical anti-terror strategizing, Barack, but do us all a favor. The next time Hillary nails you on such a gaff, forget about going Bush-Cheney on steroids. No one could possibly take you seriously and it just makes you look even dumber.
