Medicare pays for HIV treatment. However, there is a waiting list to get treatment because there are not enough programs and not enough southern GP's know how to treat HIV. 
I know that referring my Hepatitis C patients took months, even though we covered all their expenses in the IHS.
Given the exodus of specialists from some southern states due to high malpractice premiums, I think there's enough blame to go around.</description>
