My Dear Mr. Gallagher,

Accountability in talk radio is called "RATINGS." Un-hinged nut-whistles fabricating news tend not to survive in the rather competitive field of radio. As for call screening, the majority of that is geared toward screening out muttle-mouthed lunk heads who will add little to the listenabiilty of the program. Views contrary to the hosts' are usually encouraged as conflict and argumentation are far more entertaining for listeners than mere consensus on all matters. And to our knowledge the Lefty media - i.e. all mainstream networks and the entire entertainment industry - takes no calls whatsoever. So much for dialogue.

As for there being no alternatives is many parts of the country, unless you are writing from Botswana, we find this rather difficult to believe. Lastly, as you say, "you can always change the station or turn it off." Amen, amen I say unto thee!

Cheers,

Charlie

on talk radio there is no accountability. most conservative talk show hosts screen their calls carefully to exclude challenges. it allows levels of unaccountable repetition not possible in any other medium. much of it’s audience is also semi-captive. sure, you can always change the station or turn it off. but in many parts of the country there are no alternatives
