Woman arrested for kissing painting

A woman has been arrested for damaging a work of art at a museum in Avignon, France.  For some reason, the woman felt a need to lean forward and kiss the painting, thereby smudging the canvas with her lipstick.  The painting in question, by artist Cy Twombly, has been valued at $2 million dollars.

Twombly’s groundbreaking techniques are based on his choice of artistic materials, primarily housepaint, pencil, and crayons.  The news release didn’t specify which painting was damaged, but actual copies of works presently hanging in museums are included in the cartoon below.

If you don’t get it [the $2 million price tag that is],
