The "credit" for that mistake goes to the author of the cited Wikipedia article. I thought it was a rather strange position for the Libertarian Party to take -- that is why I always try to cite my sources.

Personally, I have nothing but respect for most Libertarians.

		<description>Please don't lump the Libertarian Party in with organizations who favor "allowing illegals to vote and receive public assistance".  Nothing could be further from the truth.  We certainly do not favor extending the vote to non-citizens (tacitly or otherwise), and not only do we oppose giving public assistance to illegals, we oppose public assistance for anybody.

Our opposition to Prop. 200 had little to do with the ostensible goals of the law, and much to do with the language of the law, the mechanics proposed, and the actual implementation -- all of which, once again, ended up imposing the costs and pains not on offenders but on the law-abiding.
