Migrants to change path along Mexican border wall.
$1.2 billion dollars, 700 miles of new fence, extra motion detectors and remote controlled devices, and like internet hackers trying to find a way around the latest Microsoft patch for Windows, smugglers are already looking for new routes across the border.
What else did you expect? There’s gold in them thar hills, and deserts, and dried up stream beds. A ride in the trunk of a car, along with some phoney ID papers, will fetch a smuggler 2500 bucks, in a country where the average wage is 5 dollars a day. The only guaranteed way to stop the flood of immigration is to give those people less reason to leave, which means an exponential increase in the Mexican economy.
Don’t hold your breath for that to happen.
