He shares the view that the current selection process is not bringing the very best that this nation has to offer to high office. Cronkite put the question: "Besides those who are running, who do you think might make a good president?" That seems to me to be a question that we need to hear more often. I think Cronkite would do it if we ask. If the Electors ask. The possibility of a Cronkite presidency in 2008 would sure make us more interested in the question of who should be the vice-president. We SHOULD pay more attention to this question, too.
