My parish is championing a heresy where by design has the tabernacle absent from the main sanctuary, and now has it removed from the chapel, where our Lord rests next to the his presence in eucharistic adoration ( the size of a very large closet with a swinging door down the hall. The parish has a large lay-mafia that runs interfeence for the Pastor, who is in tight with the Archbishop. Today's homily was about the cutting edge design of the main sanctuary that intentionally rids itself of "distracting/bothersome" relics like a stue of our Blessed Mother, and as mentioned, the Holy Tabernacle. We the parishoners are face too face in a circular post Vatican II styled ampitheatre, because "we are what is important" . I wanted to cry, because I want to stay and fight the point .
Don't know if I can take much more.

Dear Father,
After journeying for 72 years as a Catholic I have seen the various changes within the church and among the saddest moment was the removal of the central Altar cum Terbancle to the side. The antique Altar was removed after Vatican 2 and set aside towards the left side of the Church. Now, after more than 45 years we have intention to erect a new Altar for the center of the church with an antique design if possible. I am now serving the net for the design and when find a suitable one will convince our Parish priest to restore again such an Altar. Our Parish of St. Francis Xavier, Malacca, Malaysia is 164 years...the building itself is 160 this year 2009.

Many over here believe in traditional Mass.

When I was young, I use to watch movies which show the old Catholic church. I was moved by the sanctity and reverence. When I was old enough, I entered the Seminary. Unfortunately I discovered that the Catholic experience I yearned for no longer exists. What I saw in the movies are pre-Vatican II settings. The respectful worship and adoration are gone. Priests talk about worldly things, I thought, they are more materialistic than the lay people in my community. I left the seminary because I cannot find Christ in the new church. When I learned about the return of the Tridentine Mass, I became nostalgic of my vocation. But its too late, I'm married.

Umm, Catholics do read the Bible. The Catholic Church WROTE the Bible and codified what is canon--even what is in the KJV. Christ founded the Catholic Church, he didn't write the Bible.

Kevin: we do read the Bible, and believe the Catholic Church to be the most Scriptural Church on earth. For starters, because Sola Scripura is unscriptural (http://www.envoymagazine.com/backissues/5.3/nutsandbolts.htm). Here's a case for the Catholic Church: http://www.catholic.com/library/Pillar.asp

Thank you dear Holy Father for lifting the restrictions on the traditional Latin Mass. May God bless you! The Mass is the sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross...Jesus re-presents Himself to the Father for our sins at every Mass. And the traditional Latin Mass represents this "Holy Sacrifice" in a clearer and more distinct manner than the modern "Novus Ordo" Mass.
So, what comes to mind when I reflect on this new directive of the Pope given on 7/7/07?
"And Jesus said to them, I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven" (Luke 10:18").

It's truly sad that Catholics can't simply follow the words of Christ regarding salvation. Continue to pray for those led astray by the Vatican and the absurd Catechism it has produced and strains itself to defend. Catholics, please...read the Bible.

Judging from the obscure terms and phrases used in the article I can only wonder why anyone would want to turn the simple and direct teachings of Jesus into a voodoo ritual. Some people just need that kind of thing, I guess.
