Last week, Benoit wrestled his last match on ECW and won the opportunity to wrestle last night at WWE Vengeance. However, he never showed up, leaving fans both present and watching at home to wonder about his whereabouts. Commentators announced he was involved in a family emergency. One report says that he called the company Sunday and said that he would not be coming; his wife and son were throwing up blood, and he would be staying home to take care of them.
At 2:30 this afternoon, Chris Benoit, his wife Nancy, and his young son Daniel were found dead in their suburban home outside Atlanta, GA. Investigators have not yet revealed details, but may be investigating the deaths as a homicide. Autopsy results should be in later in the week.
Tonight’s WWE Raw did not go on as scheduled. The original intent was for a three-hour tribute to Vince McMahon, who, in the storyline, was killed in a limo explosion. Wrestlers from all three WWE organizations were to appear and compete during the McMahon memorial episode. Instead, the three hours were allotted as a tribute to Chris Benoit. Only the ring and commentators were in the otherwise empty arena. Commentators showcased some of Benoit’s greatest matches, and various wrestlers appeared in interviews to share their thoughts on the tragedy and pay tribute to a dear friend and colleague.
Chris Benoit climbed the ladder of professional wrestling, competing in his native Canada, Japan, and in the U.S. in ECW, WCW, WWE, and was just recently drafted back into ECW. He held numerous single and tag-team titles, and has always been regarded as a man who loved the wrestling business and was always an upstanding professional.
Deepest condolences to his family, his friends, and his fans.

Rumors are supporting Curtis’s comment. Apparently The three were found in three seperate rooms and several creditble websites are reporting that Lt. Pope made an off the record comment that it is considered a murder suicide. Also a wrestling insider stressed that the WWE Brass were concerned with the tone and statement he gave them for missing the show sunday nite. They are supposedly the ones who called the police to report “suspicious activity” and his refusal to answer his phone which “he was never known to miss a call from the higher ups in the WWE”.

I’ve been keeping up, and it looks like what Curtis and Mitch have said is getting closer and closer to being confirmed. We’ll see after the autopsy tomorrow. If that’s true, though, what authorities are saying about Chris Benoit…I don’t even know. It doesn’t make much sense.

What really happened? Why was he missing calls. He mentioned when he called WWE Sunday that he couldn’t make it in for the pay per view on Monday becuase his wife and son were throwing up blood! Maybe it’s because he was watching them die at that moment he placed the call. Chris must have hit rock bottom and then killed himself. Or he watched from a far as someone else did his family in then being murdered himself. But, way the seperate rooms if he did it himself? It seems to me that what ever happen happened as a plan and for some bloody reason. God bless this tragedy as we will all suffer from the evidance tomorrow night.

I dont think he did it. I feel it was to weird for him. I think people should look into foul play especially with that weird post on his bio before anyone knew anyone of his family members were dead! Its a HUGE cover-up from the wresling world I bet.
I really do believe chris benoit did not kill his family because you could tell in pictures that he loved his son and wife and i would think if it came down to that he woukd have walked away. I wonder why his next door neighbor left after it happened and then nancys ex-husband joined a satanic church and they hate the bible so common since will tell you it could not have been benoit.Benoit would not exactly kill himself when he was gonna win the title something he loved and be on top and make a lot of money i know i wouldnt. Please do not talk bad about benoit lets just pull together as a nation and make sure justice is done and the killer spends a lifetime in jail.
It’s been over two years, and I’ve since come up with a theory. Benoit most likely killed his wife, but I’m not entirely sure he killed their son. What was said that made him go home? Why was his wife done in so much more violently and, dare I say, angrily? Reports later showed that the steroids in Benoit’s system were taken after the murders but before he killed himself.
The fights they had been having, according to most accounts, centered on his wife’s complaints that she was usually left alone with the burden of raising their son. Could it be that she took it upon herself to lift the burden? That Benoit’s rage took over, but, still loving his family, set it up to take all the blame upon himself?
We’ll never know, and I only wanted to comment because I couldn’t believe someone else came in and commented this year.

its hard to believe a great wrestler like chris benoit has passed some people might not agree with what he did to hiself and his family but he must have been in avery bad place to have done what he did because he loved his son very much but if people say they are a big fan of chris as they say they are why do some of his fans judge him its so annoying chris deservers the respect for all his work for the wwe he was a great super star and people including the wwe should remember him for what he did and the super star he was not for what his did on his last days on earth show his parents and his other 2 kids what a great man he was as thoughs people have to live without a dad and a son even if he made a mistake by taking the life of his dear son and his wife and also his self he doesnt need to be punished if u were to watch wrestling with demons chris benoit u find out the true he had a brain diease which caused him to do what he did i dont care what anyone says he was still agood man and wwe should give him the respect he deserves and put him in the hall of fame the wwe dnt show the superstars enough respect like when own hart died the still carried on with the show show wwe start and show the superstars respect and do it by adding chris to the hall of fame show his family and fans he was respected by the wwe and wasnt just a meal ticket he at least deserves that i dnt really watch wwe not until the put chris into hall of fame so add him pkease wwe he deserves his place if agree to chris being in the hall of fame have ur say ive eventually had mine.
ive just read how the week of chris` death the wwe should a 3 hour special in the memory of chris well that is so faulse as i was a big fan of the wwe at one time but since the death of eddie guerrero and chris benoit ive havent bothered the wwe didnt show chris the respect he deserved as they posted a picture and the years he was born and died just before raw and the wwe superstars didnt even come out on stage for a minute like they did with eddie i loved eddie but i disagree with how they respected chris they didnt even do the same for smackdown no picture or dates shown before or after the show he did what he did but he was still a superstar and people need to treat him like anyone else especially the wwe they didnt show the hart family any so they are doing the same with chris all the superstars are to the wwe are meal tickets they think of the money they gettin in from people coming to c the shows but if it wasnt for the superstars there wouldnt be any wwe
Ive read some of the comments made about chris benoit and his true fans are standing by him like me yeah what he did was wrong but its wrong for some people to judge him he worked hard for the wwe and know one actually knew what was happening in personal life and what was happening in his head he lost his life to dont bad mouthe him for what he did remember him for the wrestler he was there is still his parents and his other 2 kids to think of when u speak ill of him he worked hard all his life to be the wrestler that he was dont be like the wwe board and dont even care cause thats what i think the wwe is all about they care about the money they make not the super stars when owen hart died in the ring the wwe still carried on with the show and when chris died they didnt even show him the respect wwe need to show the wrestlers the respect they deserve wwe board of directors add him to the hall of fame nxt year for the memory of chris and his parents and his other 2 kids even if some fans dont agree with him being there for what he did but he does deserve his place in the 2011 hall of fame
i agree with jamie in his comments and my say is i dont think chris killed his son did anyone suspect the wife no one knew her and i read and interview in a mag by an other wrestler saying is worshiped the devil what about her mean streak i think she had something to do with it nancy was never innocent
