You should (re)read Defoe's True Born Englishman.

We have the same debate in France, of course. It was revived last summer when the government targeted the "Roms".

The countries of Britain. Our cultures were born and established a long time ago. They are intrinsically linked to tribal origins, history, religion and race. Politics obviously has had an effect on our lives, but we carry on. My ancestry is English. England isn`t just a place I choose to live. I havn`t come here for economic reasons, or because I can get a house or income-support. It is my spiritual home. Angla-land. It is the home of our people. We do not want, or need people coming here from elsewhere. The country is full! The likes of Scotsman Cameron, telling us his game plan for making everyone the same. Is not only , mind-blowingly ignorant or indifferent to how real English people feel. It is just pure political idealogy, that has no bearing on reality. We, the English, will not share our identity. We are unique. Politicians will continue to encourage the poor, ignorant working classes to inbreed. They will. They are overrun. The likes of Cameron do not know about the British. If he did, he would know, we do not, on the whole, even consider ourselves, `British`.The term `British`, is a political ideal, not a fact of life for the people, native to these islands. For the English, the term has become an insult. But, for a Scotsman, living in England, (Mr Cameron), I suppose it`s a safeguard.
