Finally…some good news for a change.

The Dalai Lama, spiritual head of Tibetan Buddhists, visited the late Steve Irvin’s (Crocodile Hunter) zoo located in Australia today.

As he spoke with over 5,000 visitors, he held a Burmese python, and petted a koala.  The Dalai Lama also called for better treatment of all animals, and to ban all types of animal testing.  If you have ever worked in processing plants, then you can relate to the conditions he talked about.

The Dalai Lama is currently on an 11 city tour in Australia under strong objections from China.  Luckily the Australians regard the Dalia Lama as a significant figure, and they buy propecia online europe were glad for his visit.  The only sad part of the tour is that Queensland Premier Peter Beattie, who said he was “too busy” to hold discussions with the Buddhist leader.  Yea…busy with what one wonders?  Guess there was at least one person worried about what the Chinese would think of this.

The Dalai Lama has been in exile from his country, Tibet, since 1959, when he escaped from the Chinese.  Through the many years of exile, he still works peacefully towards a settlement with the Chinese regarding the future of Tibet.  He remains a great inspiration to all in his ability to remain at peace even under terrible circumstances.
