If the reports from two Arab television channels are to be believed, the newly installed Al-Qaida pointsman in Iraq, Abu Ayyub al-Masri, is killed in a recent attack near Haditha, Iraq.

However, the US and Iraqi authorities were quick to deny the claims. A DNA test is reportedly being conducted to ascertain the truth.

Al-Qaida is definitely feeling the heat in Iraq. If the news comes out to be true, it would be a huge setback for Al-Qaida, which recently lost its posterboy in Abu Musab al-Zarqavi. In the short run, it’s good that the terrorists are being eliminated regularly but ever wondered, how many more terrorists are actually at the disposal of groups like Al-Qaida? The number could be in millions and it’s swelling every minute. For political reasons, we still haven’t seen any action by the US inside the terror factory ‘Pakistan’.
