As someone who has lived in a London bedsit - far from Lisle Street where he wrote this song - I can say it really struck a chord with me. Even a bad Al Stewart song - like Swiss Cottage Manouvres - is ten times better than most other stuff you hear. And the good stuff like Nostradamus, Last Days Of The Century or Gina In The Kings Road, well, that is a different story. Al must have really bad taste in music not to like Bedsitter Images.
