The public has awakened to the cruelties behind each peice of antibiotic, steroid chemical laced meat packaged up to NOT resemble or remind one of the untold suffering animals endured for this peice of flesh. I urge all intelligent and compassionate human beings ( Flash: Yes you can be both at one time!) to support HSUS as well as all animal activists groups whose one goal is make the lives of animals better, free from terror, torture and unlimited exploitation by our instistutionalized and industrialized, government sanctioned Animal Abusers. Yeaaa for Bill Gate's compassion including the animals. Speak out, Question Authority, and put a stop to brutal production and slaughter of animals. Folks, if you have ever had to deal with the HSUS in any legislative or regulatory way, you would know that these people are AGAINST all animal ownership of any type...not just against cruelty. Who isn't against cruelty??? Really!!! All of us who care about animals are against cruelty. That does NOT gain any points for HSUS. If you talked with anyone who participated in the Katrina animal rescues, you would know that many of the volunteer vets and animal folks were SHOCKED at the behavior and the actions of the HSUS during the Katrina rescues. Not to mention that the State Attorney for Louisiana is seeking redress from the HSUS for all the money collected for Katrina animals...WHERE is all that money? What happened to all those donated carriers, bags of dog food (left out in the rain), etc. Please do not be fooled by the HSUS "goody two shoes" propaganda. These people are out for the end of animal ownership, the end of animal keeping and breeding. Considering that humans have had a relationship with many species since man became civilized, it is AGAINST our nature not to be able to interact with the animals of our choice. HSUS would stop all that. And...HSUS CEO Wayne Pacelle lies. He has lied before Congressional hearings. I cannot speak to every detail in his comments, but those with which I am familiar (those where I do know the background), he has lied. We know only too well the connection between animal domination and human abuse. Hunting is simply an extension of the cruelty to animals and an exacerbation of the violence to humans. As a former hunter, and even though a very good shot, I know what wounding and maiming can do to a species. The sooner we've put this brutal, barbaric and horrific practice behind us as a culture, the better off we will be. I applaude both Microsoft and HSUS. HSUS is also an expensive organization that only makes life harder not better in terms of their attempt to outlaw private pet ownership. It is futile to think that any socielty will give up pet ownership. It is against the human nature. To expend effort in this direction is a waste of time and money.
