When 25-year-old Gilberta Estrada didn’t show up to work on Monday, her sister went to her Oak Hills mobile park home outside of Fort Worth, Texas to check up on her. She got there to find the doors locked. Believing that her sister had been depressed recently, she forced her way in and discovered Estrada and her four young daughters hanged in a closet using pieces of clothing and sashes. Maria Teresa Estrada, 5, Janet Frayre, 3, and Magaly Frayre, 2 were found dead alongside their mother. The baby, 8-month-year old Eveyln Frayre was still alive and rescued by her aunt. She is in good condition at a nearby hospital.
Estrada was suspected of being depressed recently. She was last seen on Monday evening with the girls. She had a temporary restraining order obtained in August 38-year-old Gregorio Frayre Rodriguez who may be the father of the three younger girls, and who is said to have attacked Estrada. There is no evidence that he ever abused the girls, however. The two separated in February. Now he may end up being his surviving daughter’s legal guardian.
Texas has grown notorious for crimes that entail mothers killing their children. Five years ago, Dee Etta Perez shot her three children ranging from ages 4-10 before killing herself. In 2001, Andrea Yates drowned her five children in her bathtub. In 2003, Deanna Laney beat her two youngest sons to death with stones. Lisa Ann Diaz also drowned her children in the bathtub. Deana Schlosser sliced her 10-month-old’s arms with a kitchen knife in 2004, killing her. All of these women claimed insanity and were considered innocent of their crimes. It makes one wonder what is it about Texas mothers that causes them to do these horrific things.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a Trackbackthses mothers have no right to kill their children it is selfish and unacceptable, the children didnt have a problem so why should they be killed. the parents ended their childrens lives and in some cases their own. the behaviour that has been displayed is barbarick and disgusting. many people would agree with what i am saying
Mothers are committing these crimes against their children, which is very horrible. They are killing innocent children that has no awareness of what is occuring in their life. As a parent we should be the last person that our children fears, we are suppose to protect our children from harm and not harm our children. The problem with society and the criminal justic system is that we allow these so called mothers to kill their children and say that they were insane. I don’t believe that at all. They murdered their children they should be sentenced amd convicted of murder, which is my opinion. We in society need to change what is happening to our young children by reporting things that are suspicious, and or children that are being abused. Please help them because they can help themselves.
