I’m guessing in about 5 years, Google will make vacations and traveling will be obsolete.  I can get home from work and tell the family that we are going to go to Australia.  I’ll just pull it up on the big screen and boom, we’re there.

The Satellite imaging the Google has been working on the past several years has continued to grow.  If you haven’t used it yet, it’s a must.  In most cities you can zoom in to see individual people.  However it’s a birds-eye view of the city.

Just released from Google Maps is Street View.  Currently it is only available for a few cities across the United States and is not yet available to use for people outside of the US.  It allows you to put in an address and just like normal, you can see a map of the surrounding area of you address.  There is also the satellite option to get a birds-eye view.  But in cities like New York City, Las Vegas, Miami, and San Francisco, to name a few, you have an option to click on “Street View”.

This Street View option will pull up a picture of the street as if you are driving down it.  Then using your arrow keys, you can drive down the street or make turns down other streets.  I’ve never been to San Francisco before.  I think I’ll take a walk down the Golden Gate Bridge.  http://tinyurl.com/229f5y .  Not only can I walk down the bridge, I can get a 360 degree view off the bridge by using the arrows.  Who ya Gonna Call?  http://tinyurl.com/yuucur

Like I said, I can only imagine where Google will take us in 5 years.  Will everything be in real time?  Stay up on everything that is happening with Google at http://labs.google.com .
