I received a similar letter. Mine was sent from Dradenton, Fl. I was sent a check for 3639.99. Told to take the check to my bank, take 100.00 and go shopping at walmart, home depot, best buy, etc. The evaluate the store and employees. Then take a western union money and send it to one of three different people. I would be told that later. I got to keep 400.00 for training purposes and 149.99 was the fee to transfer the money.
I know this is a scam. The money would be nice right now, but this has scam written all over it. Don't cash the check if you get one in the mail. It will bounce and you will be responsible for the money. Report it like I did to the proper resources.

if anyone gets a mystery shopping letter from Marketdata Research Inc. don't do it.. like the message above it is a scam... the check was written from Houston TX. for 3998.00 and i was to go cash it, go shopping at JCPenny or Home Depot or Walmart for the first assignment then the second assignment was to wire the money to New york NY through moneygram or western Union... the letter was postmarked from Canada. and thats where the phone # is as well... i have to pay the difference back to my bank.. I didn't cash out the whole check. just a little over 500$ so i don't have to pay the full amt... the rest of the money is put on hold til i can pay back the difference... everyone be careful. if it sounds to good to be true it is.
