I believe it is a wonderful thing for this woman to have children at her age. I’m sure she considered her health before making the decission. At least it gives hope to other women who are considered to be of good child bearing age and yet can’t conceive. It gives hope in situations when most doctors say “sorry you won’t be able to be a mother & there’s nothing that can be done”. It just means that one should look elsewhere for help.
No women should be denied the joy & natural right of having her own child. I can’t wait until the day that infertility is totally, 100% cured.

A big MAZAL TOV to her!!! Why all the hypocrisy (ESPECIALLY FROM WOMEN?!) When a man fathers a child at the age of 60, 70 etc nobody says boo! Why no backlash EVER when a man has a baby (with a woman 30 years younger) Good for her and may she and her family be well….she should ignore the naysayers and enjoy her family.

I agree that this woman should not be having babies at her age. For that matter, she shouldn’t have had the last child before the twins. She had two grown children already and that is more than many people have. I think it was a publicity stunt and I think it’s unfair to these babies to have such an old Mom. For their sake, I do hope the Mom’s health remains good and that she will at least see them grown. However, it isn’t something that I support as the “norm”.

Seems like a pretty selfish move on her part. A sixty year old with new borns? She wants her six year old son to have siblings near his age? I am sorry but a six year age difference is huge in children, they won’t be playing together as much as she seems to think. On her second motivation that it will encourage others to do this is all wrong. Politics isn’t a reason to have a child. Love of your spouse and a love of children are the best reasons to have kids. The reason she had to go to africa to do this says a lot about the wisdom of this action.
