“The Left” is blindly opposing the war on principled, but politically insecure ground. It ought to be obvious that Pelosi and Reid (P&R) know what they’re doing — setting up the “Publicans and sinners” (P&S’s) up to eat their own words when they try to re-elect their own and unseat Democratic opponents in the next round of elections. When the Democrats take MORE seats away from the P&S’s, TJEM P&R — knowing that they have sufficient support from decimated and electorate-chastened P&S ranks — can haul out the legislation that will begin to defund the war at last.
