That is sure to ramp up the pucker factor in Seoul and Tokyo, but according to this story, China will not inspect shipments entering and departing North Korea… not precisely helpful when it comes to a UN resolution to isolate the “Hermit Kingdomâ€, and brings me to wonder if the Chinese are attempting to talk the talk, but not walk the walk. If North Korea is their dog (their little, noisy, vicious and incontinent dog, much given to snapping at other nations’ ankles) how tight a chain do the Chinese really have on it, and how much of their perceived annoyance with North Korea is for show?
On the other hand, the usual anti-nuclear proliferation bodies and individuals seem quite insouciant about this development, since it is apparently all our fault anyway. Perhaps they know something I don’t know.
