Dr. Mikhail M Mgeladze (Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Union to Myanmar Burma) is to have a day long meeting with the Burmese Minister Col. Zaw Min (Minister for Electric Power).
Details of the meeting are not yet known but the meeting agenda includes Nuclear Power and Missiles.
Apparently Burma wants to acquire a 2000 MGW capacity Heavy Water Nuclear Power Reactor working on 80% enriched Uranium-235, the cost is estimated at over 3 Billion US Dollars. Rumor has it that the deal is basically done and the only negotiation left is how the 15-20 year ‘Soft Loan’ will appear on paper, and maybe just as important, how it will appear to the rest of the world.
An official from the Ministry of Electric Power said that “We are doomed, I don’t know what they (Junta) are thinking, but seeing IRAN and N.KOREA as an example, I am just afraid that they have just invited yet more sanctions on Burma”
Meanwhile in Moscow, Russia, Russia and Burma have signed an agreement to build a nuclear reactor in Burma. It will be 10-megawatt light water reactor working on 20 percent enriched Uranium-235, according to a statement by Russian atomic energy agency. The agreement is signed between Sergey Kiriyenko, the head of Rosatom and U Thaung, the Burmese Minister of Science and Technologies.
Rosatom said, the research facility will also include an activation analysis laboratory, a medical isotope production laboratory, silicon doping system, nuclear waste treatment and burial facilities. And the facility will be under the control of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
This sets the stage for a Uranium enrichment program.
At this time the missile part of the meeting is unknown, but you can guarantee that it is not for peaceful purposes.

How did you know such thing ? ..like Burmese Government buying that big Nuke power plant from Russia, we all have read the story about Burma already have deal with Russia on small nuclear reactor for what they claimed for Research purpose.. your post is much different and its like missing piece to the whole puzzle.
If your information is true, the research facility story is just a scape goat or fake reason to mis lead the world? is it?
I wonder what this crazy Burmese Junta will do if they ever have 80% enriched U-235, which can be modify and make nuclear war head.. And the worst is if Burmese ever have Nuclear war head, I can’t imagine How Thailand will reply…

(mmburma) Thanks for the interesting news, but I think you need to go on details, such as legitimacy of your post (I meant 2000 MGW nuclear power plant?), how did you get this information? If this is true it is very important for us and everyone to know the truth and stop this stupid Junta. The World is already shock with their cover story (20MGW nuclear research facility) as it is. And now we are SHOCK too for the real story behind that.

I have posted this news as soon as I got this information form people who are concerned with the Ministry, I knew that it is very important to let the world know, but from what I see in this Blog news, no one except two of you have realized the importance of the news.
I am still finding out the detail of the news to make it legitimate. Because as you know News and information like this in Burma is very strictly forbidden to outsider.
But one thing for sure is I have already confirmed with other source of mine that, at that time (from 14 May to 16 May) Russian Ambassador to Burma is definitely there in Naypyidaw, and indeed He had day long discussion with Minister for Power, and it is also confirmed that the topic of discussions is definitely the Purchasing of the Nuclear Power Plant, and it is also confirmed that the Burma wants to buy 2000 MGW capacity Heavy Water Reactor and they also wants 80% enriched U-235 as a fuel.
My sources in Naypyidaw also confirmed the Second topic, Burma also wants to by high tech Missiles and technologies from Russia, they want to buy the one that can carry nuclear war head and possibly Long Range (as long range as possible)
So if you combined above two different information, yes indeed we Burmese people and the neighboring countries of Burma will be in deep-horror, If crazy Burmese Junta have long range high tech missiles with nuclear war head.
I am sorry I cannot disclose the identity of my new source, as you may understand the situation inside Burma. But whether no one believes or not I have to post what I have known.. to the world. In time (when it is too late) the people may realized what is True.
thank you for sharing the news and I know the junta will do such a foolish thing long time ago as I lived in Burma for 48 years. I know how they spend for education and health, there is no basic human needs for anyone excepts the generals and his army. We dont have enough medicine to treat, no electricity, no books for schools and they are going to built this nuclear power, not for the electrcity needs but for warheads, and the stupid Chinese government is still supporting them.
How could we make the Chinese see the real issue? Who can help us? I dont see anyonec can.
