Who can resist a title like this? It is right out of the world of late night infomercials. I decided to ignore the title and just listen and watch. Well I liked it a lot, while there were a few ‘sync’ problems in the flow. It is hard to splice a gazillion bits of tape together and not have a couple of hiccups. It is otherwise perfect reflection of music from the 50’s and 60’s. I was rocking along with the songs!

All of the video comes from vintage stock, all originally filmed at ‘The Rock And Roll Palace’ in Orlando, Florida. Based on several years of material MVD have picked the finest acts for this great DVD. I may not agree with the title, I am not sure that I would call them ‘Cruisin Love Songs’, but I did think that it was a delightful compilation, showcasing some of the biggest stars of the time.

The highlights include: Dizzy by Tommy Roe, Taking Good Care Of My Baby by Bobby Vee, and Only You by The Platters. Also included are The Crickets, Del Shannon, and The Shirrelles. This is a cruising CD! Although the video footage is dated, the quality is outstanding. Someone obviously knows how to clean old tapes up.

Once again MVD have done a ‘Bang Up’ job of finding some old and very unique footage, and turning it into a ‘Must Have’! What impressed me was the audio quality, and the great video. Whoever the tech guy is in this operation needs to get a pat on the back.  You can get your own copy of ‘Cruisin Love Songs’ from MVD.
