About 80% of the pigs in Guangdong province of China have died.

Is it Swine flu? Is it from contaminated feed?

Well, if it was humans, I would suspect either a hemorrhagic fever (Dengue, Ebola etc.) or contamination by something similar to warfarin (in the USA, sweet clover has a warfarin analogue, which can contaminate food if the clover sits and deteriorates).

Swine Flu would kill via pneumonia type symptoms.

If the pigs’ food was contaminated with the chemical that has killed dogs and cats in the USA, we would see kidney failure, not bleeding.

China is seen as a model of development in the modern world, but people forget that the development is regional, and that rural areas are lagging behind.

China’s tendency toward secrecy was one reason for the spread of SARS. However, one hopes this latest epidemic will quickly be identified before the sick pigs meat ends up being shipped from Hong Kong either as meat (i.e. sausage) or other products.
