I never heard of Ron Paul before the debate. He just put himself in the race as a true conservative for the long haul. He won't get much press until his candidacy starts to catch on. I doubt he'll overcome the odds, but he'll stir it up a bit.

Great blog. I agree about everything you said. I remember George W. Bush running in 2000 on an "anti-nation building" platform and I've been wondering for seven years where that attitude has gone. The republicans have pulled a complete 180 on the issue, now staunchly supporting the world police attitude that they abhored for so many decades. As a liberal democrat I found myself shocked that the most impressive candidate was also the most conservative - Ron Paul - but only because he's libertarian conservative. Leave the government out of our personal lives - thank you Ron Paul - there are some notes from your scrapbook that could do the social conservatives a great deal of good.

Agree with you that Ron Paul is the winner. He's the true maverick of the field, agreeing with 70% of the U.S. that we should get out of Iraq. He's also a true small-government conservative. Lower taxes, less regulation, less interference. Mitt Romney wants socialized medicine, and worked hard for it in Massachusetts.

He looks like a model and speaks like he's so rehersed and he was MADE to be president, like it is his birthright.

Dr. Paul is an everyman's man, with sound principles dedicated to individual liberty and prosperity.

Dr. Ron Paul house member for 20 years, is our last best hope to save this republic. Why, He understands and upholds the constitution of the united States, what a novel idea.
The liars and actors on both the left and the right would tremble in there boots if Ron Paul was elected. The rest of the world would be put at ease that a resonable thoughtful person held the office. Our manufactering companies that left America would find that it would benifit them to come back. Government spending would be under control, our rights under the constituion would be observed and protected. Taxes would be resonable, and the IRS would be history...just a short list. Our troops would be home in a resonable ending to the war. By the way Ron Paul did not support it from day one.
Come on people elect a real person to represent us. thanks for running Dr. Paul, at least we can not say we did not have an opportunity to once again be the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Mr. Easley is totaly wrong. What debate did he watch? The only thing I agree with is how well Mr. Paul did - but your commentary on Romney and others is way, WAY off.
