And outlawing peaceful free speech would fix this...how, exactly? Banning Christians from speaking their mind is so incredibly anti-First-Amendment, and yet you liberals are so eager and willing to further your cause by shredding the Constitution.

Thanks for the peek into your minds.

Hating gays is a cottage industry for Republicans. They make a lot of hay with anti-gay ballot measures which bring out the Fundamentalists who then vote for other Republican causes. Bush Co. successfully used anti-gay push polling in the 2004 election.

I can't say that I am surprised that the current administration wants to keep the door open to religious bigotry and the violence associated with it. The religious right (American Taliban) will act to assure their 'right' to excercise their hell, fire and brimstone judgement on anyone who does not fit into their self defined image of the 'will of God' that assures their position at the core of it. How long will Americans live under the thumb of uneducated, backward religious radicals? We say that we are in Iraq and Afghanistan to free the citizens of those nations from religious radicals. Who will save us from ours? If we need a Constitional Amendment, it is one that clearly states that there will be a Separation of Church and State and what that means. I know, however, that we will not see this happen anytime soon because of an uninformed and apathetic people who are more interested in gaining wealth than in taking action to assure human equality and human rights.
America is full of 'church people' and not genuine Christains. If they indeed were the decent people they say they are, then the teachings of Christ would surely be evident in their lives; they are not. Organized religion has cost humankind so much. War, poverty, the squelching of science, the non-advancement of human rights and the suppression of the Greek intellectual tradition that made Western culture great. This Bill will be but one more chapter in this administration's log in its assault on the Constitution and its support for the backward religious segment of America's population.
