Don't start humming "Kumbaya" quite yet cuz theres no underlying nobility in either scenario, both are driven by greed and selfishness, period. But, hey, you say its basically okay for me to pick your pocket to buy myself some food because I'm hungry, because I'm also supporting the economy. I'll pay you back whenever, but only if you agree to not press charges against me, k? Most of the illegal immigrants in the US are here for a better life. It's not that illegal immigrants DON'T WANT to pay fines but that most can't afford it. Remember, these people are paid less than minimum wage. THEY are the people that support our economy. A lot of people are being too harsh on the illegal immigrants. Everybody in the US are immigrants. It's just the matter of some people having roots in the US longer than others. Finally, the illegal immigrants aren't bringing this country on a downward spiral- it's the war in Iraq. In response to Kevin’s comment. America as a whole needs to take a stand. I'm a 20 year old college student and I'm afraid that this country is spiraling down a hole that nothing will get us out of. This whole protest, claiming that families need to be kept together. Ok, than don't come here and have a child, the only option for them after that child is born is that we take that child away, stick them in an orphanage for the rest of their lives, and send the parents back home. You don't want to pay fines to become a citizen? no problem. Don't come here illegally and than complain. Do it the right way fast. I m tired of illegals claiming they deserve rights. You don't speak english, which should be the National language. You know nothing about America, except that it's better than wherever you come from, and our laws shouldn't protect you. If illegals ever gain any rights here in America, we're going to see the next civil war. Americans will begin attacking anyone who doesn't speak english, and honestly, the illegals will have no defense. Our police officers and laws are not there to protect them, so whats there to stop American citizens from pushing the illegals back where they came from? A child born here. No, not good enough.
