This bill is wrong. It is tragic, the death of any person by a wild animal, and especially a member of the public. However, the touching and being able to have a close and personal experience with a cub changes the lives of many, many people for the better.
My first experience was to touch and hold a six-month white tiger and a two-month lion cub owned by a very responsible private owner who to this day is involved in conservation and promotion of the world's species of animals from around the world. This experience changed my life. It was a dream come true for me to have contact with these animals. I have been involved in conservation, preservation, building personal relationships with them, working with them, here in the USA and in Africa ever since.
This bill would just further our ignorance and separation from nature, and cause us deprivation and harm, and eventually destroy nature because we will have no personal knowledge nor emotion from it. We will all be the losers in the end if this bill is passed.
Please do not pass this bill. It would be wrong.
