Google Groups has been down since June 25 2011 - with no further posts being listed in ALL groups - Google and Usenet. Its now June 29 - thats 4 x 24 = 96 hours - and nothing has been done, and no announcements have been made. It is assumed that all posts from June 25 on have been lost. Hundreds if not thousands have emailed Google Customer Service - yet no replies have been received. It appears that Google is completely abandoning its support for News Groups.

I also noticed for the last few days that Google groups are very slow. Their new user interface is better than before but look really crowded and complicated wtih all that ajax and frame stuff. A clean alternative is to use Nabble - http://www.nabble.com

I fully understand and appreciate your problems. And we all know how painful and irritating these failures are...all the while we expect things would be OK the next moment whereas the grueling agony of wait continues for hours. Having said that, we should also keep in mind the occasional desk-top troubles which are equally inconvenient; though with latest products of MS; there's been a decline to those desktop crashes which were much more frequent in earlier days.
