This has nothing to do with Republicans or Democrats. Anyone with manners and ethics know what these women did was rude. Their confrontation has done nothing to help the environment. It just divides people further. Shame on them.

Your hatred of free will and the needs ....."

no no dude, its not hatred of "free will". its just kind of a little sadness that so many, and probably you from your comment, just dont know how to handle that (free will) so well. with grace and dignity. thats all. kind of a lament. at the CHOICES you make, the way you freely CHOOSE to comport yourself. thats all YOU my man. we cant stop you or shut you up, dont want to. just kind of shake our heads as we do with our children, and think "yes, some day they'll grow up". in the case of our kids we have a reasonable expectation of that. its a fair bet. in the case of ms crow and perhaps yourself, maybe we are tilting at windmills. but we're optmists at heart, so we wont give up on you. even if you have. peace out!

I think you'll find that the Hollywood establishment and much of the entertainment industry are individuals who have suddenly had great wealth and notoriety thrust upon them - without their acquiring anything resembling social grace and a sense of what's polite and civil. Their behavoir is akin to a group of high school students in a car seeing who can pass gas the loudest. They are not worth listening to or quoting. In those instances in which an actor or musician is educated and refined, the first thing they do is flee Hollywood or other entertainment capitals to a remote locale in places like Wisconsin or Colorado. A monkey in a dinner jacket is still a monkey.

Your hatred of free will and the needs and opinion of others is so complete that you cannot even write a short article without using that occasion as a chance to belittle people and go on the attack.

"Yes, policy debates are important. But there are times for debate and times just to have some dinner and try to enjoy each other’s company".

Rather than ask why we on the left are so socially ignorant, here's the bigger question: who in the hell has EVER enjoyed the company of a Republican?

What Rove and Bush and the rest of those who pull strings in this administration fail to understand is that what is good for America is also good for republicans. They have only what is good for them as their sole guiding principle. Through their eyes America is actually represented by a pitifully small slice of citizens who could care less about global warming or anything else that isn't about their own pocketbooks and the power to control everything as they see fit. These are some very stupid people that don't understand even the most fundamental aspects of cause and effect. And that applies across the board no matter what they do. In everything they do they operate on blind faith and completely disregard reality and the facts at hand. Rove could be run over by the global warming bus and he would still deny its existence. Every American has an equity share in what America does but Rove wants no part of that. It follows along with the notion of the unitary executive that all wealth and power be vested in an elite minority of individuals that perceive themselves as infallible. That premise will always resolve to failure and that is why the Bush administration has failed at everything they have undertaken.

I doubt your opinion would be so fair to Mr. Rove if he were a Democrat and a firm believer in what you call "Globalbaloney" (and most of us call the fact of global warming) and he were asked during dinner by GOP True Believers to please think of the poor oil companies.

Yes, policy debates are important. And if we can't talk about important issues over dinner in a civilized manner, maybe we're not as civilized as we think.
