And my apologies on mis-spelling pigs. But I also wanted to add that she shouldn't be grateful he was willing to fly halfway around the world or whatever he was actually going to do to straighten her out...I heard the entire thing and that can indeed sound threatening to an ELEVEN year old child. I think she knows more about her father's temper than his fans do and we know quite a bit about it over the years.

Here in Texas? I'm born and raised in Texas. Calling our kids pgs is not a "come to Jesus" talk. My mama wants to know what part of Texas does that and blames it on Jesus...geez. Get real. Oh, and by his own admission? He said he was wrong and should have called her back. So he says himself he didn't. And public or not...HE is the one who called his daughter those names on her phone. Which may be a very good clue as to WHY his calls to her go to voice mail. Would you take a call from someone calling you horrible names? I wouldn't.

Talk about a pig! Alec Baldwin is a bully that does not deserve the respect of anyone - including his 11 year old daughter.
Shame on him!

Updated to add that I'd be willing to bet money that Mr. Baldwin left another message to his daughter when he cooled down apologizing for losing it - we just won't get THAT voicemail leaked out by the mom which was probably left right after this angry one.

While I do not agree with him cursing out and calling his daughter names but after following this epic custody battle over the years I definately can empathize and see how he could have snapped. Also, after listening to his tone of voice and the entire message I honestly didn't think it was as horrific as many of you seemed to think - here in Texas we call these types of gripe outs "Come to Jesus" talks. They are usually verbally jarring and meant to get the kids attention in such a way as they will never try to pull whatever stunt they were pulling again.

If the worst thing Ireland has to worry about is that her father is so hurt and furious when she fails to turn on her phone during a scheduled talk time that he gripes her out and then rearranges his schedule to fly half way across the country to let her know how hurt and angry he is - then she's a pretty lucky little girl.

What I got from this was that this guy really, really misses his little girl and damnit when he has a scheduled time to talk to her then he will move mountains to do it and she should have the courtesy to take the call.

My ex and I don't get along. But NEVER EVER has he called our daughter a hateful name. NEVER. She wouldn't even go see him for two years because of her stepfamily.

What Alec Baldwin did was RUDE AND UNACCEPTABLE. Yes, I blow up at my kids...but I do not call them names.

And his voicemail makes me think that maybe his ex-wife has valid reasons for her actions after all. How do you call your child a pig? That stays with kids forever.

I'm NO LONGER a fan of Baldwin's...not that he would care...but neither do I.

Wow, how sad. I'm not a huge Alec Baldwin fan and again he proves that he has an anger management issue. With that said, Kim Bassinger pointed to the "anger" issue when she filed for divorce and this action makes it look like she probably constantly provoked him throughout their marriage and obviously, in the relationship with Ireland. She's purposely trying to ruin the relationship between a man and his daughter. THAT is indefensible. Shame on her. That's a very special relationship and it honestly sounds like Alec and Ireland could have had that were it not for good old Mom.

My dad would have never called me. My dad would have never said I was awesome,as Alec did on Larry King awhile back about his daughter.I have prayed for Alec and Ireland in the past, as I am an only child. When Ireland was six, she was not allowed to take Alec's calls. I even recently prayed for his calls, as Alec has been every where, lately. Upset New York("Yawk talk) is not good for father and daughter, but I bet he's sick about it. God forgive me, but I loved JennSTx putting a bad hair picture up of Kim. My dad treated me like manure, but as an only I child stuck by him,So it has to be Kim forbidding a relationship cause my dad would not talk to meor say I was awesome on Larry King. Alec has to remember Ireland may always feel guilty about talking to him when Kim says it destroys her. JennSTx--you made my day!

Again Baldwin shows what an ass he is. Whatever the situation, you dont take it out on a child. Great Dad that he is - he doesnt even know how old his own daughter is. The guy is a jerk, a blowhard and a bully. Besides, he said if Bush won the election he was moiving out of the country. After 6 1/2 years why is this bloated ham still in the US?

Seems to me that Mr. Baldwin is to be condemned no matter what he does. What if he were to take the road more often travelled by divorced dads? I would think that any rational person, after being snubbed by his own daughter again and again, might just give up ever trying to contact her and try putting some distance between himself and a very ugly situation with his ex-wife. However, because he clearly DOES care about his daughter's whereabouts, attitude, and love, he is desperately fighting for the common respect that most children would willingly give a "much missed father." I find it disgusting when a child is used in any custody battle as a weapon to hurt one of the parents, but Ms. Basinger's actions are particularly foul considering she is fully aware of the emotional damage that this type of publicity can do. Whether it was intended or not, she is coming across as a bitter, jealous "has-been" trying to rain on the parade of Alec's recent television success. Unfortunately, her efforts to soil her ex-husband's image are blowing back into her face and making her daughter look mean-spirited and spoiled.
