The Aussie ‘Live Earth’ line-up has just been announced.
The July 7th concert, held in conjunction with similar events in London, Tokyo, New Jersey and Rio de Janeiro, will feature Aussie rockers Wolfmother and Silverchair as well as international successors Jack Johnson and Crowded House.
Headlining the eco-friendly concert will be surfing rocker Mr. Jack Johnson, who will end his yearlong hiatus by performing at Sydney.
Johnson, a well-known eco warrior, admits agreeing to take part in Live Earth wasn’t a problem but deciding which of the concerts to play was.
So how did the alternative singer/songwriter choose?
He explains, “New Jersey and Australia are about the same distance for me, but Australia’s waves are a lot better, so that made the decision easy.”
Live on stage in London will be: Beastie Boys, Black Eyed Peas, Bloc Party, Corinne Bailey Rae, Damien Rice, David Gray, Duran Duran, Foo Fighters, Genesis, James Blunt, John Legend, Keane, Madonna, Paolo Nutini, Razorlight, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Snow Patrol.
The U.S. show will feature live on stage: AFI, Akon, Alicia Keys, Bon Jovi, Dave Matthews Band, Fall Out Boy, John Mayer, Kanye West, Kelly Clarkson, KY Tunstall, Ludacris, Melissa Etheridge, Rhianna, Roger Waters, Sheryl Crow, Smashing Pumpkins and The Police.
