The thing about this is if the president had a child that could benifit from stem cell research, he wouldn't be so hard core on the topic.

My daughter is 15 and has cystic fibrosis. she is going to need a double lung transplant soon. The high rate of rejection of the lung, I am extreemly concerned. If I had the funds I would probibly seek out a country that has allowed the research. The death rate is so high for kids with these transplant, and with stem cells, whether from embyos, or other means would be a great alternative to the transplant.

I am not a relegious man, but because of this going on with my daughter I have started praying that something come before she needs this operation.

I know this is a poor analogy, but its like a spark plug doesn't make the car, it takes all of the pieces, not just one part or the metal to make the part. I know this is a possible living being but it isn't yet. Humans are concieved not created in a tube for a single purpose of helping cure deseases. Unless that embryo is placed in a womb, to develpoe It shouldn't be concidered a child yet.

Just my 2 cents from someon on the side that could benifit from this research personally. Ask my daughter if wwe should let her die because some jack a.. won't concider posibilities of alternative research. At some point we would learn to grow the cells without the embryos
