A school in Rhode Island has banned the Easter Bunny from a school event in an effort to be aware of “other people’s backgrounds and traditions”. The Easter Bunny will be replaced by Peter Rabbit.
Naturally, the head of the Rhode Island ACLU approves. In response, a Rhode Island legislator plans to offer a bill to save the Easter Bunny.
Secularists will not be happy till all vestiges of Christianity are swept out of the USA. This is reminiscent of the Communist attack on Christianity and the Bible.
The good news is that Jesus lives. A study of “His”story and the Bible shows that God has the last word.
When Jesus was baptised God declared: “This is My beloved Son with whom I am well-pleased”. 2 Peter 1:17 NASB.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackSince the word Easter comes from the name of the fertility goddess Eostar (one of a variety of spellings) whose symbol was a rabbit (we all know how fast rabbits multiply!), and symbolically means the spring rebirth of everything under the sun, and also the word is derived from the word that means “East” because that’s the symbolic direction of rebirth/spring.
I’m surprised Christians would defend the “Easter” part of the holiday or even want to retain the bunny as it is clearly of pagan origin.
Perhaps it would be more sensible to change the name of the holiday from Easter to something more appropriate to Christian beliefs. Why not call it Resurrection Sunday or something similar to end the contention?
I note the irony. The truth is that most don’t know the origin of the word Easter. They equate Easter with Christianity. That is the reason for the attack. My point is that the attack is real. “A rose by any other name smells as sweet.”
