While gay apologists discredit Cameron as an agenda-driven religious rightwinger whose been kicked out of every insitution but the Boy Scouts, such is not the case with Dr. Robert S. Hogg.

Hogg's research paper on the gay and bisexual life expectancy in Vancouver in the late 1980s and early 1990s was published by the International Journal of Epidemiology.

Hogg openly expressed disapproval of his work being used by those "more interested in restricting the human rights of gay and bisexuals rather than promoting their health and well being."

"[W]e do not condone the use of our research in this manner," he added.

Though gay-friendly, Hogg's findings reflect those of Cameron.

In our paper, we demonstrated that in a major Canadian center, life expectancy at age 20 years for gay and bisexual men is 8 to 21 years less than for all men. If the same pattern of mortality continued, we estimated that nearly half of gay and bisexual men currently aged 20 years would not reach their 65th birthday. Under even the most liberal assumptions, gay and bisexual men in this urban center were experiencing a life expectancy similar to that experienced by men in Canada in the year 1871.
Hogg later said the mortality of gays and bisexuals has since decreased "three fold."

The FBI estimates that 56,000 Canadians — about 1 in 600 — were living with HIV in 2003. 950,000 Americans — about 1 of 300 — were living with HIV that year.

The gay-related disease is more prevalent in other nations. A report published today in Mozambique, for example, notes that "139,000 Mozambican babies have been born with the Aids virus in the last six months, according to a report released on Monday by the United Nations Children's Fund."

This is pure propogranda.

This uses statistics that incorporate persons infected with HIV/AIDS - Denmark housing many couples who were infected in the boom of the diseas in the 70's and 80's.

So yes. They will probably die sooner. Especially in consideration that accidental death will affect a statistical pool of 500 more than the average death of hundreds of thousands of straight married people.

The report is rubbish.

Paul Cameron has been removed from a couple of professional organizations for misuse of research and this is more of the same. I am also aware that, according to the program committee of the Eastern Psychological Association, he did not inform them in advance about the longevity research angle in his poster session. One should be very cautious in believing any reports coming from this team.
