A meaningful UN commitment in Iraq would allow us to draw down our troops there. BUT the reason neither side is willing to even contemplate that is that it would mean sharing the OIL. Not even the Democrats are willing to do that. Shame on Congress, on both sides of the aisle and shame on the President for getting us into this mess. But full marks for the White House for knowing that this would happen, full marks for the White House knowing that everyone in Congress is greedy for all the oil they can get.
